The prestigious Department of Electrical
engineering was established in the year 1998. It has been very well
equipped with highly commendable facilities and is effectively guided by a
set of devoted and diligent staff members. The department offers U.G course
in B.E - Electrical engineering.
At present the Department has 13 Teaching
Faculty, 2 Technical Assistants and 1 Office Assistant. It has 240 Students
in U.G Programme. (First Year 60, Second year 60
& Third Year 60, For B.E. 60.) Every year the intake strength of the students
for U.G Programme is 60. The Department has well
equipped laboratories such as Electrical Machines Lab, Power Electronics
Lab, Power system simulation lab, Control system Lab Measurement &
Instrumentation Lab. Microprocessors Lab, High Voltage Lab, Basic
Electrical Engineering Lab.
Students of this division are exposed to
Computer Aided Electrical Machine Design, Computer Aided Power System
Analysis, Power Electronics Application to Power System, Simulation of
Power Electronic Systems, Advanced Electric Drives and Control, Theory and
Design of Nero-fuzzy systems, MATLAB programming and so on.
The students are to undergo compulsory
In-Plant Training at the end of every semester. Also many students are
placed in industries through campus interview in industries ABB , Crompton Greaves, Siemens, Mahindra
& Mahindra, Reliance energy etc. also many
are selected in state & private Electricity Boards also in Uttam Galva
Steel, Astral Glass , and so on.
In addition to the excellent classroom
teaching we have advanced software like MATLAB for the students and faculty
for advanced training in electrical and electronic systems. Apart from the
normal teaching schedule a few of our staff have taken up research
activities and a few publications have already appeared in the proceedings of National and
International conferences in the area of Power & Control systems.
