Late Padmashree Vitthalrao Vikhe
Patil, the father of Co-operative movement, laid the foundation of Pravara Rural Education Society in 1964 with an aim of bringing social, education & economic upliftment of the rural masses.

The Pravara Co-operative Sugar Factory, pioneered by
Padmashree, the first co-operative sugar factory in Asia brought an industrial revolution in the rural region of
Pravara.

In order to bring the great vision of Padmashree into reality, his worthy son Hon’ble Shri Balasaheb Vikhe Patil Minister for Heavy
Industries-Govt. of India started a number of institutes in the Engineering, Education Technology, and Medical & Paramedical Sciences.
